BitCoin mining seems too good to be true, so I'm pretty sure I'm calculating this wrong or missing a huge step here... if I buy a bitcoin mining rig such as the KnCMiner Jupiter which comes out next month, and this gives me 400,000 Mhash/s, then according to the calculator at http://bitclockers.com/miningcalculator I should be getting over 300 grand a year?????? What am I missing?
New Distributed Autonomous Corporations can reward loyal customers with deflationary bitshares
I came up with a new strategy for distributed autonomous corporations and how they can build wealth for the people. Let's say you wanted to buy a bitcoin mining rig (or a car, or anything). You could buy one from a standard dealer or you could buy one from a new distributed autonomous corporation that offers cryptoshares with every purchase. Consumers can actually hold a stake in the DAC and get what they wanted anyways. BTC like Blocks are replaced with products sold (can also be mined, bought, sold, earned), i.e. First 1000 products sold yield 1000 cryptoshares 1001-10000 products sold yield 500 10001-100000 products sold yield 250, etc. Who do you think would rave enthusiastically about the new product they purchased from a company that they now OWN a share in? The DAC will go viral and the customers will promote the product like they made it. Seeing how it would cost almost nothing in the beginning to award the cryptoshares, it can work. Originally 1000 shares may be worth $0.001 each. Soon they yield dividends and in time grow to $1 to even $100 each. Workers and investors will get lasting royalties and get legendary bitcoin ROIs, but now, even the customer can gain a stake in the company! DACs are open and distributed, by the people, and for the people! Please tip me so I can help make this a reality: Btc: 19ZEhBMWtsntY4Kc8wPAkYfekYgCvJVh4Q Doge: D9XzmPpHSAcfWn4VdBF93HC6pq4k7df1iT Protoshare: Pfd7yVHojcWvcLeDCSmKPo77QD3EgZ3r8F Thanks!
Want to invest in Bitcoin? Buy them, not mining rigs! Bitcoin mining has become a gamble.
Mining is becoming profitable only for the hardware manufacturers. The demand for mining rigs remains frantic, despite that most current ASICs will not ROI once backorders are filled. It is a gamble whether or not your order will be fulfilled first, and even if you do ROI, you are most likely looking at a 10-20% profit over the course of 12 months. Miners are trying to resell their miners for MORE than they paid for it AFTER mining on the machine for over a month. Invest in Bitcoin directly. Buy and hold if you are looking for long term profit. Money is being pumped away from the Bitcoin economy and straight into the pockets of hardware manufacturers. This is truly a case where the shovel sellers are ripping off the prospectors. I am a miner myself and the current state of mining is painful to bear. Consider getting into Bitcoin in ways other than mining. I am not posting this for any personal gain, but because the community needs to WAKE UP and realize that BFL, Bitfury, Avalon etc are not free easy money. The low hanging fruit has been picked. I wrote this quickly and this problem seems to be ignored on Reddit in hopes to insight discussion into a topic that I feel is being ignored in this subreddit. Thanks for reading, StringTheory

I'd like to sell some BCH I got from the Aug fork to help pay for a new gaming/mining rig. I've only ever used coinbase/gdax to buy bitcoin, so i'm not sure where to sell BCH. Any suggestions? (US based) /r/Bitcoin

Is it worth buying a mining rig and getting into bitcoins at this time.
Okay this may sound STUPID!! I've been wanting to get into bitcoins, well I finally have some money to buy a mining rig. Not an expensive on mind you, just one I can add to my network at home. And I have a quiet space to put it. Is it worth getting one, I really don't care if I make my money back, I want to play around and see if I can make some money.
I know very little about mining, but I'm interested in perhaps buying a rig for home and pointing it to the new Bitcoin Unlimited pool. Suggestions for getting started, like best rigs, best sites to buy, etc? Thanks in advance. /r/BitcoinMining
